The Flats at Loyola Station is a guesthouse affiliated with Loyola University Chicago, managed and operated by undergraduate students. To Loyola Limited's knowledge, it is the first student-run and managed guesthouse business in university history, offering exceptional and dedicated service to its guests. Open Summer 2010, The Flats at Loyola Station is part of a $500 million plus multi-year initiative to improve the Roger’s Park experience with restaurants, retail and additional quality of life amenities. With one bedroom and two bedroom accommodations and a prime northside Chicago location, The Flats at Loyola Station offers ideal accommodations to its guests, for both short and long-term stays.

THE FLATS TEAM

jennifer ruffing

Jennifer Ruffing is pursuing business degrees in Economics and Accounting at Loyola University Chicago. She became part of the Loyola Limited team in October 2010 as an Associate of Finance and became the President of the Flats in October of 2011. Always striving to gain a broad view of business operations, she is excited to take advantage of the Loyola Limited experience and help the organization expand.  After graduating, she plans to "live the dream" back in her home state of Minnesota and work in the medical technology industry.

christina hernandez

Christina Hernandez currently is in her sophomore year at Loyola University Chicago. The Huntington Beach, California native is double majoring in Sociology and Psychology with a Human Service emphasis and minoring in Women & Gender Studies. She plans to study abroad in Western Africa in the summer of 2012. She joined the Loyola Limited team in the spring of 2011 as the Director of Customer Relations for “The Flats”. She and the other members of the Customer Relations Team are responsible for managing reservations and guest questions prior to their stay, to ensure that their guesthouse experience is the best it can be. After graduation, she intends to use the experience she’s gained from the Flats to pursue a career in Industrial Organizational Psychology.

caitlin sappington

Caitlin Sappington is a sophomore at Loyola University Chicago and a Business major. She is originally from Los Angeles, California where she attended Mira Costa High School. Caitlin is the Vice President of Operations at The Flats at Loyola Station in which she collaborates with the Chief Operations Officer regarding managing safety protocol, guest needs on site, and operational procedures of the guesthouse. She is looking forward to working at the Flats throughout this year. She plans to study abroad through Loyola's Beijing program her junior year and go on to graduate school. 

Sean Anderson

Sean Anderson is currently in his sophomore year at Loyola University Chicago. He is working on his B.A. in Political Science and B.B.A. in Business Management. Sean is originally from Naperville, IL and attended Waubonsie Valley High School. He became affiliated with Loyola Limited in October of 2010 as its Associate of New Business Ventures, working with the President/CEO in concept-development for two of Loyola Limited's newest ventures. Sean now works as the Director of Operations for the Flats.

 

kristen mccormack

Kristen McCormack is a junior at Loyola University Chicago and is pursuing her B.B.A. in International Business and Finance while enrolled in the SBA Honors Program. In May 2011, Kristen joined Loyola Ltd. as an Associate of Finance for ChainLinks and became the Director of Finance for The Flats in October 2011. She is eager to contribute to the growth of all current and new business ventures within Loyola Ltd. and hopes to foster a sense of community among team members and the student body. After graduation, Kristen plans on applying the skills gained from working with Loyola Ltd. to a career in management and finance.

 

christopher olszewski

Christopher Olszewski is a junior double majoring in History and Secondary Education, along with a minor in Theology. Originally from Hoffman Estates, Illinois he is Director of Operations for The Flats at Loyola Station. Chris is responsible for meeting guests' needs and making sure everything at The Flats runs efficiently. Through his position, he hopes that each guest is able to enjoy their own unique experience by staying at The Flats. Following graduation, Chris plans to combine his two passions of history and education by working for the Peace Corps or Teach For America.

lenel reuther

Lenel Reuther is currently a junior at Loyola University of Chicago. She is a double major in Psychology and Political Science, with a minor in Psychology of Criminal Justice. Originally from Eugene, Oregon, Lenel became a member of the Customer Relations Team in the Spring of 2011. Working closely with the staff of “The Flats”, she and her co-workers strive to make the guest experience the best that it can be through excellent customer service. She plans to study abroad in Rome in the summer of 2012 and hopes to continue on to law school with a concentration in family and child law following graduation.
