Voted the best place to "live well" in Chicago by Trulia, Rogers Park rewards neighborhoods with quiet streets and low traffic, historical architecture, a multiplicity of restaurants with global cuisine, and lush parks.

As a home to people from all over the world, there is no single dominant ethnicity but rather Rogers Park residents speak roughly 40 languages and hail from over 80 countries. This is reflected in the shops, cafes, and events that occur within the quiet and welcoming neighborhood.

Below, is a list of our personal favorite spots in Rogers Park.

Recreation

Loyola Park - 1230 W. Greenleaf Ave

Located in the East Rogers Park community, Loyola Park sits on approximately 21.5 acres of land. The 600-foot concrete sea wall that spans the park is divided up into 160 mini murals that are painted by neighborhood residents as part of the Artists of the Wall Festival each year.

Lifeline Theatre -  6912 N. Glenwood Ave

Lifeline Theatre is driven by a passion for story. Its ensemble process supports writers in the development of literary adaptations and new work, and its theatrical and educational programs foster a lifelong engagement with literature and the arts.

Dining

Ghareeb Nawaz -  2032 W. Devon Ave

This modest, yet award-winning, Indian/Pakistani restaurant, located on Devon in West Rogers Park, offers giant portions for low prices. The vegetarian options are just as hearty (and varied) as the meat dishes, and because the prices are so low, you can come back and order many different dishes. It is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, so you will never have to go hungry for great South Asian food.

Charmers Cafe - 1500 W. Jarvis Ave

Charmers is a local independent cafe in Northern Rogers Park offering quality coffee, smoothies, juices, tea and more. Its unique decor features suspended, swing-like seats and stringed lights across the ceiling.

Le Piano - 6970 N. Glenwood Ave

Nestled away on a cozy street off the Morse Stop, Le Piano offers Parisian-inspired small plates and desserts. Enjoy a glass of wine from their expansive list while you listen to live music any night of the week. This place is truly a Rogers Park gem.

Honeybear Cafe - 7036 N. Clark St.

Honeybear is a cute, cozy, local, and family-owned restaurant that has a mission to provide high quality food and offer a welcoming space. The offer the classics along with their french toast flight!

Shopping

Sahil - 2605 W. Devon Ave

Sahil is a living piece of artwork filled with luxurious South Asian formal and bridalwear located on Devon. Jewelry from India can be found, along with simple blouses and menswear. It is a beautiful place to walk around and admire the hand-woven details on saris and lenghas.
